| YCC - Eid Al-Fitr Event
Eid Al-Fitr event will be held by the Yemeni Canadian Community in Calgary.
When: Sunday, Sebtember 4, 2011 Time: 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm Where: Inglewood Community Center 1740, 24th Ave. SE, Calgary, AB, T2G 1P9
The cost will be $10 each for Kids ( Between 7 and 12 years old) and $20 each for everyone 12 years old and older including Adults Map to the location

| Ramadhan Iftar Event
Our Community will be joining our brother Walid Salem Ali and his family and relatives in an Iftar Event .
This Event is organized by Walid's Family for the soul of Walid's Wife (Our Sister) Ishraq Yakub ( May Allah have mercy on her ). Our community will share the cost of this event with Walid's Family. We are very honoured to be part of it. Everyone is invited. Contributions towards this event will be accepted.

May 19, 2011  | Arabic Bilingual Program ( Open House and Expression of Interest ) The Calgary Board of Education is seeking public interest in the provision of an Arabic Biligual program. If there is sufficient interest, the program would open in September 2012 for kindergarten and grade 1 Students and would expand one grade per year. CBE administration will be available to provide information about what the Arabic Bilingual program will look like and gather input from the community about their interest in the program. مع انتصاف يوم السبت الثاني عشر من مارس ارتجت ساحة بلدية مدينه كالجري و مدينه فانكوفر الكنديتين بأصوات المتظاهرين اليمنيين المغتربين في تلكما المدينتين مطالبين برحيل الفساد و الظلم عن اليمن و وقف اراقة الدماء اليمنية الطاهرة. و ارتفعت ايضا بذلك اللوحات و اللافتات باللغتين العربية و الإنجليزية تطالب الرئيس علي عبدالله صالح بالتنحي و النزول عند رغبة الشعب. و في الوقت الذي تتداول فيه القنوات الإخبارية أنباء عن تضامن و دعم من قبل الحكومة اليمنية لنظام القذافي, انضم عدد من ابناء الجالية الليبية و صرخوا مطالبين بسقوط رؤوس الظلم في كل انحاء الوطن العربي. كما انضم الى المظاهرة مواطنون كنديون للتعبير عن دعمهم لحق اليمن في الحصول على نظام ديموقراطي. جيم ج. شاب كندي متابع لاخبار الشرق الشرق الاوسط انضم الى المظاهرة رافعا صورة الشهيد عبدالله الجائفي. و بذلك اتحد الجميع على انه نعم للتغيير و لا للظلم و لا للفساد.

The Federal Parliament declared October as Islamic History Month in Canada (IHMC). "That, in the opinion of the House, due to the important contributions of Canadian Muslims to Canadian Society; .... to achieve better understanding of Islamic history, the month of October should be designated Canadian Islamic History Month." - House of Commons, Ottawa, Canada, Oct. 25, 2007. This event provides Canadians an opprtunity to get to know and experience Muslim heritage. Although, this event is mainly geared towards non-Muslims, we need greater participations from Muslim community to help organize, host as well as invite your non-Muslims friends, co-workers and neighbors. In order to facilitate the ticket selling, some of you have kindly accepted to sell tickets in their areas. Please refer to the e-mail sent and contact the closest person to your location.
